Delavan Elementary School
Please find information below that addresses two issues at Delavan Elementary School.
After School Pick-up – There is a safety concern with after-school pick up at our school. Working in conjunction with the local authorities we have decided to implement the following procedures effective Monday, January 25, 2010:
• Individuals who feel it is necessary to park and come to the doors to meet students will need to find a designated parking spot in our parking lot or park their vehicle on the east side of the street (across from the school on Locust Street with the vehicle facing north);.
• Individuals should wait outside the front doors when waiting for students to be picked up; please do not come inside the building to wait for students.
• Individuals who will remain in their vehicle until students are released should wait in the vehicle line in the parking lot.
Thank you for following our new procedures as these are being implemented for the safety of our students.
Before/After School Care – Students should have brought home an interest survey in regards to before/after school care. We are working with Tazewell County Health Department to investigate options for before and after school care for the students of Delavan Elementary School. We are in the exploratory stages and would greatly appreciate your feedback. Thank you in advance for taking the time to fill out the survey and returning it to school by Friday, January 29, 2010. If you did not receive a survey, we have extra copies in the office.
